Call for Design Proposals of  Liangzhu Forum Logo Global Announcement

In an effort to enable the sustained development of the Liangzhu Forum, establish it as a platform for enacting the Global Civilizations Initiative, and enhance its international influence, the Liangzhu Forum Organizing Committee launches a global call for design proposals of the Forum's logo on June 30, 2024. The Liangzhu Forum Organizing Committee (hereinafter referred to as “the Organizer”) cordially welcomes and invites all natural persons, judicial persons, and non-juridical organizations (hereinafter referred to as “Participants”; or a combination thereof may form a joint Participant), who are interested in this event, to participate in this call for design proposals and contribute their wisdom and strength to the Forum.
In addition to the Participants who voluntarily participate in the Call, the Organizer will also extend invitations to Participants who meet the eligibility criteria. All participants must adhere to all terms and conditions outlined in this announcement and the Liangzhu Forum Logo Design Proposal Technical Document (see appendix, hereinafter referred to as the Technical Document).
I.Eligibility 
All natural persons, Judicial persons and non-legal organizations (including the combination thereof) that are interested in designing the logo of the Liangzhu Forum and compliant with the requirements of the Announcement, the Technical Document,  and other requirements of the Call may participate in the Call. Participants shall clearly state the participant’ name and/or title in the submitted proposals; those who participate in the Call jointly shall clearly state all co-author' names and/or titles in the submitted proposals.
II.General Requirements 
1. Design  Theme
The design shall  reflect not only the philosophy of Global Civilization Initiative to promote exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations, but also the objectives of Liangzhu Forum., while being adaptable to various publicity and promotional scenarios associated with the event.
2. Design  Requirements
(1) The design shall be inspiring and widely acknowledged by both the Chinese and international communities.
(2) The design can be two-dimensional, three-dimensional, or dynamic. The overall visual aesthetics and expression of the LOGO shall not be affected when being presented in carriers that are of any color, texture or size, two dimensional or three dimensional, stationary or dynamic.  Consideration shall also be given to its potential application in broadcasting and television transmission as well as new media technology. 
(3) The design's content and elements shall conform to the relevant laws, regulations, and policies of the People’s Republic of China while meeting technical standards and conditions for work entry. It shall be eligible for copyright protection and suitable for trademark registration.
(4) The design proposals must be original and shall not contain images or expressions that have internationally recognized or generic connotations. Additionally, they shall not be published works or modifications and adaptations of others' works. The Participants must ensure that they possess complete and impeccable rights to the design proposal, free from any circumstances including but not limited to infringement of the rights and interests of third parties.
(5) All Participants shall ensure that the copyright (including, but not limited to, copyright property rights, copyright-related rights, derivative development rights) and other relevant intellectual property rights of the submitted works belong to the Organizer in accordance with the requirements of the Call for Entries and comply with the Confidentiality and Anti-cryptic Marketing Policy. If the Organizer discovers any unauthorized use of the submitted works or their iconic elements by any natural person, Judicial person, or unincorporated organization or violation of the Confidentiality and Anti-cryptographic Marketing Policy, the Organizer reserves its right to pursue legal responsibility.
III.Composition of the Entry
The number of entries submitted by each participant is unlimited. The entry proposals shall include the complete drafts, instructions, and application simulations of the design proposals, as well as the relevant documents to be signed by Participants for participation in the call. These relevant documents include the Letter of Commitment, Letter of Authorization, Information Form, and any necessary identity and qualification documents required by Participants. The specific requirements can be found in the Technical Document.
IV.Submission of the Entry
Deadline:  24:00, July 31, 2024.  Beijing Time .
The submission time is determined by the time of receipt of email, and any changes to the deadline will be communicated through official notification. The designated method for submission is via online email. Participants are required to submit their documents electronically as specified in the Call Document. This Call for Entries does not accept any physical or mailed submissions.
The participants is required to prepare the proposal in either Chinese or English. If the original qualification or legal documents are in a language other than Chinese or English, the language used in the original shall prevail; however, the participants must provide a corresponding Chinese translation for this purpose. Participants may choose either Chinese or English as their communication language with the Organizer prior to submitting proposals.

The starting time and deadline of entry submission shall be the time by which the Organizer receives the delivery at its designated email address. The Participant must submit the entry via email before the deadline for submission. Any delayed delivery will be rejected.
V.Selection and awards
The Organizer will thoroughly examine the format of the entries. Any  entry that fails to meet the formal requirements may be deemed invalid. The Organizer will not return any submitted proposals.
- Selection: No more than 60 entries will be shortlisted for the preliminary evaluation and an honorary certificate will be awarded.
- Preliminary evaluation: 10 entries will be shortlisted for further review. RMB 10,000 before tax will be awarded to each of the 10 shortlisted entries. The shortlisted entries shall be altered as required by the Organizer until the evaluation is completed.
The participants shall revise the design in accordance with the  requirements until the completion of the re-evaluation process.
-Re-evaluation: All re-evaluation entries must be modified and checked. Among the 10 sets of designs, 4  will be  submitted to the Organizer for final evaluation. The winning designs will be awarded prizes (Note: Prizes are not cumulative, with a maximum prize of RMB 120,000 before tax for selected designs and RMB 20,000 before tax for winning design).
Except for the above prize,the Organizer will not pay any other fees to the Participants.If there are two or more Participants  for the winning  design,the  Participants  shall  distribute  the  prize  among themselves,and the disputes involved shall have nothing to do with the Organizer.The prize money will be paid to the designated account of the winning participants after deducting the tax according to the law after the completion of the event and receipt of all qualified documents submitted by the winning participants.In case of overseas  remittance,the  amount  shall  be  in  RMB  and  settled according to the exchange rate on the day of remittance.
VI. Other
The laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, along with the relevant provisions of the Organizer, shall be applicable to this Call. All specific time mentioned in this announcement are based on Beijing time.
The Participants shall bear all costs arising from this Call, and the Organizer shall not be held liable for any expenses incurred by the Participants due to their voluntary participation in this Call.
