Beijing, Nov. 8 (Xinhua, by Wang Huiwen) -- The Open Science and Open Source Innovation and Development Forum was successfully held during the 3rd World Science and Technology Development Forum on November 7. The forum was jointly hosted by China Association for Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Chinese Academy of Engineering.
At the forum, "Innovation China" Open Source Innovation Societies hosted the opening ceremony for Open Source Education Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Working Committee). Core members of the first Working Committee are experts from the fields of science and technology communication, information technology, economic management, media publishing and software engineering. The Working Committee will strive to break the traditional closed-loop of education, building a learning community beyond time and space within three-dimensional learning space with interdisciplinary learning courses, focusing on new learning environment and methods, and creating a good ecosystem for the cultivation of future scientific and technological innovation talents.
The forum also held the launch ceremony for the pilot operation of "Tadpole Mass Communication" technical communication platform. Zheng Haojun, Director of the Science and Technology Communication Center of CAST, introduced the construction background and operation concept of the "Tadpole Mass Communication" technical communication platform and announced that the platform was officially launched for pilot operation. It is reported that "Tadpole Mass Communication" will attempt to establish a "4T2S" model, which consists of communicating technology together, innovating together, funding projects together, investing in the industry together, mobilizing volunteers widely through crowdsourcing, and forging cooperation through outsourcing. These are effective solutions for technology achievements that are difficult to be found, hard to be used, unable to be understood or trusted.
The "Communication Center for Carbon Peak and Neutrality" jointly sponsored by the Science and Technology Communication Center of CAST and dozens of other organizations was officially inaugurated at the forum. The center will accelerate the establishment of a technical research and cooperation platform in the field of carbon peak and neutrality, develop a working framework for carbon peak and neutrality technical standards, training and certification, and build a standardized talent training system.
It is reported that the Open Science and Open Source Innovation and Development Forum, with the theme of "Open Source Sharing - Integration and Win-Win", aims to focus on open science cooperation and open source ecosystem. It builds a platform for communication among science and technology organizations, universities and institutes, science and technology enterprises, and social organizations at home and abroad, spreading the concept of open science, open-source spirit, and open-source culture. The forum promotes open science and technology innovation cooperation, talent and service aggregation, technology integration, and the construction of a world science and technology community of "discuss, build, share, co-exist and win-win". Representatives from research institutes, universities, and enterprises in the field of open science and open source technology in Beijing attended the event, and tens of thousands of professionals in the field of open source at home and abroad watched the forum online. The forum was jointly organized by the "Innovation China" Open Source Innovation Societies, the World Federation of Engineering Organizations China Committee, the "Innovation China" Youth Committee of 100, and the Science and Technology Communication Center of CAST.
